Homes are more affordable today than they were 10 years ago so why aren’t we seeing the sales pick up? In my opinion this is due to fear in the economy. Many people would love to take advantage of today's real estate market but the fear of their job not being here in a year has them afraid to make a move. I am seeing deals fall apart a week from closing or contracts being cancelled in the due diligence period because they are worried they might not be able to make the payment.
This is the issue, what is the solution? How about instead of buying the $750,000 house that is now reduced to $500,000 we buy one that we can actually afford. With mortgage rates what they are today rent is more expensive than a home purchase in the $250,000 range. How about instead of buying a home with 105% financing we actually put money into our homes, you know like we used to in the 80's? I know this is only my opinion but I get so frustrated to see all these great homes just sitting on the market when there are plenty of buyers. Like my favorite billionaire Warren Buffett says”
“Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”
Together we can change this market
